Gresham Japanese garden

Gresham Japanese Garden’s Tsuru Island, our flagship Japanese garden is located in the center of Main City Park, the City’s largest community park. It is free, accessible to everyone and serves as the ‘gem of the community’. In addition, GJG manages seven other gardens in Main City Park, offers a worksite program for adults with special needs, along with monthly bonsai and ikebana workshops.

MagRose Media

MagRose Media is an Oregon nonprofit dedicated to helping young people turn creativity into careers.

Through hands-on training in photography, filmmaking, live production, and digital storytelling, we equip underserved youth with the technical, professional, and leadership skills needed to succeed in today’s creative workforce. Since 2021, we’ve served more than 150 young people by providing real-world learning opportunities alongside professional productions, community partners, and industry mentors.

We believe access changes lives. Every project we undertake is designed to create opportunity, preserve authentic stories, and empower the next generation of creators to tell their own!

My Fathers House

At My Father’s House, we offer more than a place to stay – we provide a pathway forward.

Our 6-month and 1-year transitional housing programs surround families with stability, structure, and compassionate support as they move from crisis to independence. Residents have access to our food pantry and clothes closet, meet weekly with a dedicated case manager to set and achieve life and employment goals, and watch their children flourish in our nurturing Children’s Center.

With your support, families gain the tools, confidence, and hope they need to rebuild their lives and step into a brighter future.

Rockwood Market hall

The Rockwood Market Hall is a non-profit organization that serves as a small business incubator and community hub. Located in the heart of Rockwood, we have 17 small businesses that operate inside of the Hall as well as offer an onsite commissary kitchen, co-working space, and community events!

Rook & Raven

Jason Burrows and Nick Laws live here in Gresham and have been friends for over two decades. Jason is an illustrator and Nick is a baker. Not too long ago, they both realized that they were dissatisfied with the local options for buying the tools they needed to practice their respective arts. The craft stores in Gresham didn’t carry the types or qualities of supplies they needed and the dedicated art and baking supply stores were on the other side of a LOT of traffic!

So Nick and Jason decided it was time that all of the East Side creatives who paint, draw, print, sculpt, or practice sugar arts, had a place around the corner where they could find the quality art supplies they need, sold by knowledgeable people.

Keep an eye out for  Rook & Raven Supplies for Artists to open later this year on Powell

Underdog Alchemy

Human Flourishing was created to tell the story of healing through symbols of hope, peace, identity, resilience, science, community, and growth. Together they reflect a belief that mental health is more than reducing symptoms—it is the lifelong journey of becoming more fully ourselves.

I created this piece as the founder of Underdog Alchemy, a psychiatric practice in Gresham dedicated to helping people flourish through compassionate, evidence-based, affirming care. I believe every person, especially those who have felt overlooked or underestimated, has the capacity for transformation.

My hope is that everyone who passes this post recognizes a part of their own story—and leaves believing that healing, growth, and flourishing are possible.

US World Class Taekwondo

U.S. World Class Taekwondo has been in the City of Gresham since 1988. At U.S. World Class Taekwondo, we believe martial arts develop creativity just as much as confidence and discipline. The artwork featured on this art post was created by our student, Riley, under the guidance of Black Belts Wendy and Ember.

Together, they designed the display to follow the Taekwondo belt system, arranging each drawing in rank order from beginner to advanced. As you look at he post, you'll notice how the depiction of the martial artist evolves in skill and confidence—reflecting the same growth students experience throughout their martial arts journey.

This project celebrates the connection between artistic expression and personal development, showing that every belt represents not only new martial arts skills, but also creativity, perseverance, and progress.
